Empty-Handed Merchants

Does it feel stupid to anyone else that when a merchant returns after a delivery to another domain, the merchant is always empty-handed?
I mean, they have the carrying capacity, so why waste a journey?

We could specify what we want the merchant to bring back from the other domain when the resource transfer window is open.

For a more complicated but balanced alternative, Add another thing to merchants guilds - Resting places.
If the Recipient Merchant's guild has a resting place available (will cost you), then the merchant can rest for a while (like the troops resting) and then transport resources from that city to the original one.

PS: This is just a rough idea. I'm not sure if I should've posted it here or in some other discussion forum.

totally agree with you but since it makes sense and would benefit us (the players) it won't happen :(
