After another depressing day searching empty ruins I finished the last of many beers, took a half hearted glance at the results of battle of the day and pushed my way through the many pompous, jobless heroes standing at the bar waiting for another idiot to give them a job.

Grrrrrr.

What was wrong? I had a big loyal army, my armor and blades were shinny and sharp but my boys got beat too often to the treasures by lesser players day after day after day?? Feeling depressed and dazed I kicked a stone in despair and looked down at my old, tired, crumpled low level boots. I pulled them off threw them down the street in disgust and stomped off bear footed to the local shop to see if I could get a decent pair of fast leather.

I flung open the door and there he was the fat, smug git wedged between two boxes of overpriced goodies usually too expensive for my pockets.

Grrrrrrr.

"I want new boots. Have you got any?" I said in a loud drunken rage.
"Calm down now grizzly I've got just the pair for you." "That renegade saboteur Lord Zoublon-de-grize was captured yesterday and sentenced to death by the high council, but my brother works as a prison guard and the tragic Lord swapped his boots for a drop of the hard stuff. Do you want a look at them?"
"Alright I'll have a look, but secondhand boots have to be cheap! Right?"

"Cheap...no" The wily shopkeeper smirked

"This is the only pair in the kingdom and they'll get you there before you leave 'and' they'll also cost you that bag of gold your carrying Grizzly"

Grrrrrrrrrr!

The shopkeeper then pulled out a pair of immaculate shinny boots that seemed to glisten in the light. They looked like they would do the trick and I checked the label it read "only half the time to commit a mighty crime.'

"huh' what does that mean then?

"Only half the time to get there, so you don't keep losing out too noobs" he said grinning sarcastically

GRRRRRRR!

"So do you want them? for that bag of gold your carrying? eh??" He then peered down at my bear feet.

"Sorry, I got the price wrong. It's that bag of gold 'and' whatever's in your pockets".

"You Fu.......

"A ah now, now - no swearing in the shop Grizzly"

His finger pointed to the sign. It read "Any abuse will not be tolerated and a gagging order will be put on any person who is reported for such abuse" By order of the administrators of the great council

"Tut tut.... you don't want to get gagged do you? You know how inconvenient that can be," he said smugly.

"Alright I don't have much choice do I? Give them here."

I threw the gold at him, grabbed the boots and crashed out of the door breaking it from its hinges. I felt ripped off and used ( as usual) but what choice did I have.

All of a sudden a rider approached, it was a friendly explorer mate of mine. Grizzly....phew puff, pant. I rode as fast as I could...pant puff.....there's....there's.

What? what is there??

An ancient treasure of the seven
My eyes widened the beer haze lifted immediately.

"Where, where is it?

"You're never going to make it two more armies are already there and they are close to getting the treasure."

"We'll see about that" I shouted

"SLAAAAAGS TO ARMS!!!!!" I bellowed " IT'S A SEVEN!!!!' A half drunk rabble fell out of the tavern and landed in a heap before me. I stuck my mud soaked feet into the shinny leather of my new boots and the ground began to shake. The entire army stood to attention staring wide eyed at my new footwear, my legs began to pump wildly, my feet became a blur.

Slaaaaggs! "These are the fastest boots in the kingdom and yesterday was the last time we'll get beat to the booty" I announced passionately to the troops my voice trembling at the immense power the boots were generating.
"COME ON, LETS GO YOUUUU SLAAAAAAGGGGGS!"

We shot off like a rocket

Meanwhile.........
A gallant and brave army was slaughtering their foe , a full day and a half chopping and slashing, mashing and stomping on head after monster head, all the soldiers where getting exhausted but they kept strong and focused as the treasure was in sight.

"I've checked with the visionaries many new armies have found us." cried Ozzy
"Yes but we're too close, they are too late" Harry replied, as he withdrew his blade from another rotting monster stomach, "Bring up the archers, let loose the cavalry, one final push and we are there men"

But just as Harry spoke there was something strange in the air, something unfamiliar on the horizon and the ground began to tremble.

"huh whats that? said Ozzy

All heads, "including monsters" turned towards the distance in a strange brutal moment of curiosity.

"Is it a storm?" A rider asked. The rumbling got louder.

Is it a tornado? A knight cried as the rumbling and plume of cloud was now accompanied by a distant ahhhhhh sound

"Is it the mystic wind of the wizened witches of the east?" a healer shouted as the 'ahhhhh got louder and the ground now shook with a thunderous pounding.

"Ho s**t ........no it's worse than that! It's Grizzly elf......and...and....... he's got some new super boots!", cried Harry has he dropped the severed arm of the monster hero in despair.

Over holy land the boats of fishermen threw their passengers overboard. On steppe the sheppard's flocks caught fire, through forests donkeys spilled their carts dying of fright and in the cursed woods spiders scurried for cover at the sight of this new supersonic phenomenon, this bullet from the east that fired towards its target.

All I could think about was the treasure of the seven as I tried desperately to keep upright. My troops were struggling to keep up, their eyes bulging, their hearts beating out of their chest, but they also had on their mind the tales the bards would tell about them writing them into the history books of mylands for this heroic deed and halfway to our goal I heard a rising chant.....It's a seven......It's a seven........it's A SEVEN.......IT"S A SEVENl!!!! The Slaaaggggs were feeling the moment and instead of me leaning backwards arms flailing all over the place I pulled my ample torso up and leaned into the power of the boots picking up more and more speed....it's a seven....it's a seven........ahhhhhhhh IT'S A SEVVEEERRRRNNN!!!. COME ON! AAAHHHHHHHH!!!

We came flying past a huge battle that looked like it had been raging for days Sparkly armor, expensive rings and adornments splattered the landscape mixed with the blood and guts of many a fine soldier and monster limbs cut from their raging hosts. Familiar shocked faces stared at us in disbelief with mouths gapping wide. as we went ng past.

"Sorry boys it's a seven" I shouted as we went piling into the last few monsters who were so shocked at the speed of the attack they died of heart attacks.
I skidded to a halt and scooped up the gems as my guru hero pranced around in his stupid guru hat bashing the corpses of dead monsters to make it look heroic.

"We got here first boys" I shouted to the troops, they all fell about on the floor like deflated balloons. "Come on guys back to the Tavern, I'm buying! The Troops were so surprised that I was actually going to buy a round of drinks they freshened up immediately and we got home as fast as we came. After parking the troops in front of the bar at the tavern to watch the instant replay of the battle I had one last thing to do.

I strode confidently into the shop.

"Ah Grizzly I hear you had a good day today and I see your boots have paid for themselves already, is there anything else you want?

"You said these were the only pair of boots? You're not lying are you? I leaned over the counter menacingly.
"Err...errr ....well" His stuttering tone gave him away. As I looked behind his cartons of wares I caught a glimpse of a box with a pile of saboteurs boots in it.

"Had more saboteurs executed have you,..you.....lying runt?" I launched a right hander across the counter that knocked that smug grim off his face and grabbed the box.

" I'll be having them then" I said with glee and strode out of the shop with the rest of the boots.

So the moral of the story is, it's ok buying pretty swords, shields, potions and fancy hats but if you don't dig deep in your pocket and buy some good boots, then you're always likely to be second to the prize and maybe that prize will be the greatest mylands has to offer. Oh and yes the saboteurs boots are now as rare as rocking horse s**t thanks to our skanky shopkeeper.

Congrats, I enjoyed watching the visionary reports as you moved in, good to see some of that captured in the story (also the comments about the game itself are quite good).

And so after reading the great quest of the fast boots it's time for the world to read the whole story of the level 7 ruin.

Harry4683 found the ruin and was on his way to killing it as a solo mission. He was too fast to be beaten by any player, but as a great clan leader and friend he withdrew his attack and invited me to join in and share the gems.

As he was returning Grizzlyelf slipped in and sent an attack. We Pm'd him and asked if he would withdraw and share the gems with harry......no answer....more Pm's.......no answer....more Pm's....no answer. Still over 30 mins to go so we knew he would answer, as no one in this game would ever leave the screen for the most coveted prize in the game. (Well nobody, but Grizzly) more Pm's....no answer.

Finally an answer arrived with just over 1 minute until his troops arrived. Grizzly would not withdraw and share. So the "great" victory goes to him.

The reason why i am posting this is because i have been accused of selling the ruin to the slagggs. I can assure you all that nothing is further from the truth. I have harry4683 as a witness and also grizzlyelf, if he would care to comment on my post.

LMFAO!!!

Yeah right, ozzy sold me the ruin :S So his best mate cancels his attack on it to bring him along. Essentially splitting the 53k bgs. So then ozzy says..." I know, why don't I sell this to some other guy and let him have the whole thing" that way my mate who cancelled his attack gets nothing and I get it all. WOW!!! whoever came up with that theory is smart. Lemme guess...Somebody in barracuda??? They tend to be the smart bunch pmsl.

What ozzy said is true for the most part. I did ignore his msgs but not coz I had alterior motives. It was coz I knew I had just secured 53k bgs and was on my way to the shop for a big damn bottle to celebrate.

Anybody thinks otherwise is probably a barracuda player and should be ignored purely for that reason
